The pressure sensor for the Sterilemax ST75925 is Thermo Scientific part number TDX5 and can be ordered at labequipmentparts.com. This is an off-the-shelf part with part number MPX5700DP and can be acquired for a much lower price from electronics parts suppliers if you are so inclined. MPX5700DP at Digikey.
Steps:
- Make sure the chamber is not pressurized. Turn off the unit and disconnect the power. Disconnect the printer if applicable.
- Remove 12 screws (#2 philips) securing the back panel and remove the panel. Sometimes the screws for the bottom of the panel will have different threads than the screws for the sides and top. If this is the case for your unit, make a note of it so you won’t have trouble during reassembly.
- Remove 3 screws (#2 Phillips) from each side of the cover and remove the cover.
- Identify the pressure sensor. The sensor is at the top of the sterilizer near the front of the water reservoir. Note the orientation of the sensor, the electrical connector, and the tubing.
- Disconnect and remove the sensor. Remove the hose clamp and pull the tubing off the sensor. To remove the hose clamp push the sides of the clamp in opposite directions along the tubing to slide the teeth past each other (rather than trying to pull or pry the clamp open against the teeth). Pull the electrical connector off. Remove the 2 nuts securing the sensor and pull the sensor off.
- Install the new sensor, secure it with the nuts and reattach the electrical connector and tubing. Reassemble the cover and back panel.
- Run the unit through a cycle to verify the new sensor is providing reasonable pressure readings.
